2023 Tile Trends- Homes and Gardens

As 2022 came to an end, Homes and Gardens posted their observations and predictions for tile trends in 2023. They note that tile is beautiful, hardwearing, and durable- and we could not agree more! We love how tile can add artistic statements, and unique designs to elevate a space. Not to mention, tile continues to be the most durable flooring you can select for your home. For that reason, there is a lot of pressure to select a timeless tile- something that is in style but not too trendy. That’s where the experts come in! Homes and Gardens lists 10 main tile trends they’re observing this year. While their observations on Checkerboard designs and Moroccan tiles haven’t reached us yet, we’re seeing the same observations about large format tile, natural stone looks, textures, and statement tile.

Stone looks, especially in large format tiles (24inx24in, up to 48inx48in), provide a connection to nature. The latest craftsmen and technologies allow for durable porcelain tile to perfectly mimic the luxurious and dramatic looks of onyx, and marble. Furthermore, large format tiles expand spaces and create a seamless look. These options are perfect for a clean, open, luxurious look.

On the other hand, smaller backsplash tile trends are making a shift as well. Over the past several years plain white subway tile seemed to be the main option. Now, designers and homeowners everywhere are trying to break the mold. Handmade and hand painted tiles offer unique, even custom, shapes and colors to allow for bold statements and one-of-a-kind looks. We love the look of textures with rounded corners and wavy edges. Many are even seeking a balance with white subway tile that has texture or decos to add interest to their space.

We are proud to have a showroom with all of these trends featured and more. Whether the project is a quick backsplash update, a major remodel, or a brand new build, we love helping our clients find the tile that brings their design dreams to life. We wonder what other trends this year has to offer!
